The lifter for a wireless headset will allow you to answer or hang up a call while you are away from your desk, saving you time and allowing you to be more efficient.

For the lifter to work properly, your phone needs to be programmed to automatically select the ringing line when the handset is lifted. The lifters are all installed the same.

How do I install my wireless headset handset lifter?

Ensure the wireless headset is plugged in and fully charged. Attach your headset to the remote.

Plug the handset lifter into the bottom of the wireless headset base.

Before permanently attaching the handset lifter to the phone, hold the lifter under the handset and test it, to ensure the handset lifts properly. Do this by pressing the answer button on the remote. You may need to adjust how high the lifter lifts the handset. Find the optimum place on the phone where the handset lifts and lowers most effectively.

Install the handset lifter.

Test a few times right away to ensure the handset lifts and lowers flawlessly. Move the lifter if needed.

When the handset lifter is raised, you should hear dial tone through the headset. If you don’t, the handset lift may not be clearing the phone’s switch hook or the base unit may need to be fine tuned to your phone.

Put the headset on and have someone call you. You should hear the ring in your headset and/or the remote unit. If not, adjust the ring volume (and possibly the ring type if your phone has this).

If the ringing comes from directly underneath where the handset lift is installed, the lifter’s ring sensor should pick up the ring.

There two major suppliers of headsets, Jabra Netcom and Plantronics both have headset lifters available.
